Typically clad in leopard print and accompanied by amazing friends, I usually have successful brunches, lunches and dinners. My first choice for brunch is almost always Westport Cafe and Bar and if you ask me, they have the best blue point oysters in Kansas City. Not to mention that whenever you order off of the brunch menu you receive a complementary Bloody Mary, mimosa, or Bellini with your meal. There’s something about that place that totally warms my heart.
My next move is to further indulge in French inspired food and drink at the adorable Ça Va (also located in Westport). Go for Sunday brunch and there’s a full mimosa bar and extensive champagne menu. However, I cannot stop myself from snacking on their delightful french fries… Especially after I’ve had a couple of drinks.
Sometimes the best way to spend a Sunday is doing things you love, with people you love, wearing what you love. Restaurant week is around the corner and I felt it necessary to pay my respects to these restaurants, but I can’t forget my most favorite place of all, Port Fonda. From the service to the Mezcal, it doesn’t get any better.
After you’re finished at Port Fonda, stop into Westport Cafe & Bar or Ça Va for a second meal, second drink, second snack or second date. They’re all about a five second walk away from each other.
Being in a space where people understood AND shared my passions totally woke my brain cells up! I’ve been mocked for being the “blog girl,” instagramming my lunch before digging in, making sure each article of clothing was just right before taking a pic of my outfit, researching which hashtags worked best. You name it. I’ve been labeled a “shallow” human all because I’ve been passionate about sharing my experiences, advice, ideas, struggles, love, light and creativity with others. This lunch was a blast and a reminder to always go where I’m celebrated and surrounded by like-minded people.
